New Patients
Kulow Chiropractic & Wellness Center is a warm and comfortable place that keeps your convenience in mind at all times. Starting care at our office involves a single phone call. Rest assured that your treatment will begin immediately at your first appointment.
We want you to take your time learning about chiropractic and how our office works, so we spread out the information we give you over several days. This process is designed so that you:
- Understand your specific problem
- Understand how it got to this point
- Understand why other avenues didn’t work
- KNOW what it’ll take to get permanent results
The First Day
Your first visit is about gathering information, taking about an hour in total. When you arrive, we'll ask you to fill out our patient information questionnaire. Then you meet Dr. Kulow for a detailed consultation, discussing what your problem is. A thorough examination will be next which includes range of motion studies, posture analysis, sensitivity to touch, muscle strength testing and a complete orthopedic and neurological assessment. After the exam, we'll know what treatment is best for you, and then you'll receive your first chiropractic adjustment.
What to Expect at Kulow Chiropractic & Wellness Center
It’s always nice to know what you can expect when visiting our office for the first time. Here’s a short description of what your care will involve during each visit with us.
Your First Visit
You will immediately feel at home the moment you walk in the door.
After completing some brief paperwork, you’ll sit down with Dr. Kulow to have a talk. You'll tell her why you've come in, and she'll ask you some questions to get a better idea of what's going on in your unique body.
Based on your answers, Dr. Kulow will recommend some further examination techniques that will be the most effective for the symptoms you are experiencing. We do not practice a “one size fits all approach” in this office as each person and each body, will experience pain, trauma and injury differently. Dr. Kulow prefers to be very thorough and exploratory in her diagnostic approach so she can find root causes of your symptoms.
After she concludes any necessary diagnostic measures, she will review them with the patient and preferably a member of their support system. The support system that a patient has is so important to the success of their healing and we like to involve them when possible. Phyllis and Shonna will help you get set up for your next appointment and discuss insurance coverage or financial information with you.
We recommend you wear some comfortable clothing you can move around in to this appointment and plan on spending about an hour with us.
Your Regular Visits
When you come in after your initial appointment, you’ll begin your agreed upon treatment plan with Shonna our dedicated Therapy Assistant, or with Phyllis our office manager and receptionist. You will feel comfortable and in a routine in no time!
Do I Have To Go For the Rest of My Life?
Our goal is to get you healthy and keep you healthy so that you’re body can begin to heal on its own as it was intended to do. Every treatment plan with every patient will be different but the goals are always the same. Maximum results with minimum dependency on treatment methods over time.
Our job is to get you out of pain, re-teach your body where optimal health is and once we’ve done that, we hope you enjoy your health and want to keep it through regular check-ups. It’ll help keep the stresses of everyday life at bay, and you’ll continue feeling great.
